VINTAGE G.W. CO. BABY WARMING DISH
Adorable vintage late 1940s or early 1950s pottery baby warming dish measuring 9-3/4" wide, 9" deep and about 2-1/4" tall. Decorated with charming little images of Teddy Bear, Rabbit & Cat/Dog Buddies, dish was designed to keep food warm for children just learning how to eat by themselves. It is complete with Bakelite handles and original screw cap - top is ceramic and underside is plated steel - piece is heavy enough to sit on a highchair tray without getting knocked off.
I purchased a variety of these wonderful old warming dishes with the intention of mounting them around the ceiling edge in a vintage themed baby room - these were just extras I never used.
Condition is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, or damage - a hint of age related usage wear, and I think the port cap may have had a Bakelite accent - does not detract. Just a sweet little baby warming dish - love the graphics - fun addition to any collection or display!  Please note - the notches out of the handle edge are from the screw port - not damage.
