Trek, vintage looking, rare, road bike. 58cm frame only, HEY it's an EARL !!!!

So this frame is what appears to be a very rare find. After searching the web for info all I found were a few photos of a similar bike. One of the previous owners decided on this repaint obscuring any other clues. He either intended on lightening the frame with a grinder, or did not understand the nature of sanding the old finish. Hense there are plenty of grinder marks just about everywhere on this frame. I have never seen this model before. The prominent TREK stamp between the top twin bars looks radical.    Some further info : the frame weighs 6lbs using a cheap luggage scale, and was decked out in single speed fashion with 700c wheels and tires (front brake only). also the fork had a 1-1/8 threadless steer tube, and that head tube is a hair over 4" tall.   I wish to reiterate: this frame was improperly finished there are grinder marks all over it. please understand you can build it up as is, but if your looking to refinish it then it may prove to be less than desirable. are we clear on that? feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. A color change sure but expect a beat-nick vibe when it done    the bottom bracket is included, and it is in good condition.
