    Description

LGB 1981, 6 car 1981 (2), 82, 83, 84, 85 G Scale Lehman 100th Anniversary collection. Condition is excellent (see pictures). This is a rare, vintage, dated collection in unusually nice condition.
This set was started in 1981 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Lehman Company. It has both a dated 1981 passenger car and a diner. Subsequent dated cars were produced each year through 1985. Each one with a different red, white, and blue color scheme from the others. The last 1985 car is a beautiful blue postal car complete with two LGB steel axle sets with electric track pick ups, two external lighting lanterns, an interior office with light, and electrical socket to power other lighted cars or sound system (the steel wheel pick ups, lanterns, and lights alone are worth about just as parts).
Do not confuse these cars with the 150 year Schweiger anniversary cars that originally came together in complete sets. This is a collection of cars made over a 5 year period. Some of them are much more difficult to obtain than others as the quantity available varied from year to year. Made in Germany, very high quality, durable, reliable and easy to get on the track.
This is a unique collection and could only be purchased individually each year. The 1981 cars were sold in a set, not sold individually. There are red window boxes with 4 of the cars (two have wrong labels), the 1981 cars have no boxes as they came from a set box. Some extra padding in the boxes can be seen in the picture to protect the cars from “box wear” (see pictures). Buying the entire collection will save a lot of work for someone as well as dramatically reducing shipping costs of purchasing each car individually.
Please check out my other G gauge listings. I do have a 1981 engine listed separately. I would also consider offers on separate cars. Ask questions. The LGB poster advertising the whole consist is not included.
I used previous prices of these cars to come up with set price. The blue postal car with steel wheels, pick ups, interior light, socket and lighted lanterns is worth about 0. I figured the average price for the other 5 cars at -60 each to come up with a price of 5-300 for those (some are very difficult to find at any price). Composite price of 9. Shipping all together will also save some money. These will be gone before Christmas I think.
Local pickup in the Chicago area can be safely arranged, the local shipping option comes after you start the payment process. Come visit my G Gauge freight station (4-car garage).
