Don’t be fool by claims of dual band performance.  Although traditional VHF J-pole antennas will resonate at UHF, they suffer a –6dB loss at UHF over a ¼ wavelength groundplane.  We have purchased most of the so claimed "dual band antennas" on ebay and most are just single band VHF antennas resonating at UHF.  This antenna offers true ½ wavelength performance at both VHF and UHF.    SWR is less than 1.3 to 1 on both bands.    A copy of the original paper on how this novel antenna works is available from me.
This antenna is completely portable and can be rolled-up and placed in an emergency go pack.  When deployed, it will give about +6dB of gain over a rubber duck antenna.   It comes complete ready to use with 3 ft of RG174A cable and a commercially full molded BNC connector.   It comes complete with adapters for BNC, SMA and reverse SMA (Wouxun and Motorola) at no charge and one 6ft extension cable.  The extension cables can be cascade. Additional extension cables are available and also a BNC female to PL259 adapter.
